The Pinx appear in the Obelisk and All About Jazz

PREMIERE

This is a career first for me - I have the same artist with premieres at The Obelisk and All About Jazz!

Adam McIntyre of The Pinx can seemingly do it all, and he does a lot of doing it all! Three solo albums during the pandemic (the third, Black Planet - out Sept. 18 - includes the 13-minute Prince / Miles Davis mind-bender tribute, "Voodoo") and the latest EP from The Pinx (Electric!, out now) with its Mad Alchemist Liquid Lite Show-created oil projection visualization. JJ Koczan at The Obelisk says, "Stylistic turns are quick and unannounced but a pleasure to follow. Pretense is nowhere to be found. It sounds like rock and roll to me."

Hey, it sounds like jazz, too! Follow this link to hear "Voodoo" via All About Jazz, and click here to find the premiere of “Electric” in the Obelisk.

New Noise shares the trippy clip for "Hammer of the Dogs" by the Pinx, crafted by the Mad Alchemist Liquid Lite Show

PREMIERE

”Hammer of the Dogs,” a new Zep-adjacent rocker by The Pinx, is already a mind-melter… and now this. Watch the new video now at New Noise Magazine!

The Mad Alchemist Liquid Lite Show’s art is a combination ’60s San Francisco analog light show utilizing ink, dye, mineral oil, and rubbing alcohol sandwiched between glass plates. [This video was made using plates] spun on converted overheads with LED light sources. Each plate has a video camera filming these liquid combinations with signals going to laser projectors. ‘Hammer of The Dogs' was performed with four sets of plates, projected and then re-filmed live, no Photoshop!”

V13 premieres "Hammer of the Dogs," The Pinx' ode to Led Zeppelin

PREMIERE

There’s more new music from The Pinx over at V13.

“‘Hammer of the Dogs’... an obvious ode to the innovators of hard rock, Led Zeppelin, and the ‘hammer of the Gods’ lyric from their 1970 classic ‘Immigrant Song’... a scorching tune that pulls no punches in its approach, something typical of the group’s brand new EP... Electric! may only be five tracks in length, but it’ll wear you out.”

This is the most brutal cut on the new EP (according to me)!

Atlanta foursome The Pinx to follow-up 2019's "Sisters & Brothers" album with "Electric!" EP on Aug 14th

NEWS

“I was just straight-up shooting for Hellacopters and Led Zeppelin. I’m a blues guitarist in a rock band,” says Adam McIntyre of The Pinx.

Whether or not the above amounts to a confession, McIntyre’s declaration of direction amounts to an intriguing version of the Atlanta-based band’s trademark dueling guitar sound, as last heard on its third album Sisters & Brothers, released in 2019.

This time the duels draw blood.

But, instead of reading about it, check out “It’s Electric,” the title track from the band's upcoming EP “Electric!,” on July 17th. Full EP arrives Aug. 14th.
