Gregory Ackerman talks honestly and openly with Atwood Magazine

FEATURE

Some incredible writing here from Mitch Mosk at Atwood Magazine about Gregory Ackerman and his recent 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘒π˜ͺ𝘡π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 album. Greg talks honestly, openly, and courageously about how his struggles with tragedy and depression informed this moving record.

And… we still dislike Spotify, yes? Greg has recorded a cover of the Graham Nash / Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young classic "Our House," and in solidarity with Joni, Graham, David, and the gang, will be releasing it this Friday, April 22, to all streamers except for you-know-who.

Greg's also on tour now as part of Jack Symes' band and will be celebrating the release of "Our House" when the tour wraps in Los Angeles this Saturday, April 23 at Zebulon. For now, check the story and listen to 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘒π˜ͺ𝘡π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 here.

Much appreciation to Glide Magazine for the continued support of Gregory Ackerman, this time by sharing 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘒π˜ͺ𝘡π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 track β€œAll This Thinking.” Gregory tells us that he wrote the song during β€œa period of extreme anxiety” and that it helped him find β€œa way out.” As with all the songs on the new album, β€œAll This Thinking” is a great listen for unburdening the mind.

Gregory Ackerman, whose Still Waiting Still is out today, guests on the Stereo Embers Podcast

PODCAST INTERVIEW

Gregory Ackerman’s much-anticipated new LP Still Waiting Still is out today (listen here), and he’s also received the podcast treatment from Alex Green of Stereo Embers.

Some great intro words from Alex, as usual: β€œThe album is as breezy as it is riveting–it’s a brilliant meditation on the quotidian life and its daily comforts and disruptions. Ackerman’s work is intimate and confiding and played with the kind of commanding interior strength that gives it an instantly timeless quality. It's a rich and seamless collection of woebegone West Coast loneliness that perfectly contrasts the sunrises and sunsets of Southern California with the corresponding highs and lows of the human heart.”

Stereo Embers calls Gregory Ackerman's new song "utter sonic perfection"

SONG PREMIERE

Thanks to Stereo Embers for premiering the newest single from Gregory Ackerman. β€œTaken from the California-born singer/songwriter’s marvelous new album 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘒π˜ͺ𝘡π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭,” they write, β€œβ€˜Mr. Moon’ is shimmering with delicacy and strength. Buoyed by a shadowy backbeat, a sneaky melody and Ackerman’s inimitable and unforgettable delivery, β€˜Mr. Moon’ is two-and-a-half minutes of utter sonic perfection.” No qualms with that description!

Stream the single, and its two b-sides, everywhere tomorrow (Friday, August 20). 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘒π˜ͺ𝘡π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 is out September 17.

Gregory Ackerman's new, good song - called "Good Song" - premieres via Folk Radio UK

SONG PREMIERE

Tonight at his free Love Song Bar show in downtown LA, Gregory Ackerman may play his new song, a good song, that is actually titled "Good Song," which is out tomorrow, and can be heard right now!

It’s been posted thousands of miles away by the lovely Folk Radio UK, which calls it β€œan infectious laid-back hazy number, lyrically sincere and couched in more than a little ray of that west coast sunshine." 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘒π˜ͺ𝘡π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭, the album from whence this good song has been culled, is out September 17.

Gregory Ackerman pours his heart out to American Songwriter with the premiere of "Losing Sense," featuring Illuminati Hotties

SONG PREMIERE

Gregory Ackerman recently poured his heart out to American Songwriter about a crash-and-burn fling that resulted in "Losing Sense," a non-album B-side (feat. Sarah Tudzin of Illuminati Hotties) that will be released with Ackerman’s new single "Good Song" this Friday, confessing that he β€œwrote it after the abrupt end to an abrupt start of a beautiful thing with a beautiful neighbor.”

Damn! Show Greg some sympathy and give a click to check out this diary of a ditty. Full LP 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 𝘞𝘒π˜ͺ𝘡π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘡π˜ͺ𝘭𝘭 is out September 17.
